Rare 19th c US doctor's trade sign
A rare example of a 19th century trade sign for Dr James Houston. Recently acquired from a private collection, it is understood that Dr Johnson was a practicing medical doctor in the mid west of America at the end of the 19th century and into the early 20th century. He also practised in the Amish community. The sign is single sided with gilt lettering and that gritty finish typical of late 19th century trade signs from the mid west.
