Rare French 19th cent.Ormolu Bound Diary. Objet de Vertu Ormolu French
A fantastic quality 19th cent,French Diary for 1870,unused.This delightful item is bound in Ormulu,the front is set with an 'Electrotype'panel depicting a Pelican,Birds, Nest of Baby Birds,beneath a Tree and Leaf Canopy,the back is set with Tan Leather.It opens to reveal Green Silk Lining with Pocket on inside front,The pages are Gilt edged and the front fly pages reveal date for 1870 and Paris Make. There is a 'Silver' propelling pencil in Silk sleeve.It is in unused condition showing only small wear on silk surrounding the Pencil.There is a locking clip like seen on old Bibles and Photo Albums. I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antiques Emporium,Lewes,E.Sussex and also The Arcade, The Corn Exchange,The Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells..If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in either Shop.
