A rare and charming mid-century Melissa loose powder compact. The embroidered lid is decorated with a male bird of paradise wooing a female. The delightful scene is pristine as it is protected by the original clear cover. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives a good clear reflection. The base is decorated with guilloche engraving. Measures 3 1/4" and weighs 100 grams.
