A Regency rosewood writing slope with the owner’s name “Jane” on the brass cartouche. The cartouche has a brass pique border. All in fine structural condition, just normal light wear. The velvet on the surface of the slope has been replaced and the spring in the lock is wearing. With stationary compartments under the lid and slope, ink bottles, pen tray and stamp compartment. With a working key. The South American rosewood on a mahogany base, has a rich colour and figuring. Measures 12″ x 9″ x 4 1/4″.
