In 1989, Robert Hoppe passed away at the young age of 46
Hoppe received countless awards for his work, including the Desi Award in Graphic design and an Emmy for Scenic design. He was also a member of the famous Theatrical Guild of United Scenic Artists.
In addition to his set and design work, Robert Hoppe also created numerous movie posters including his iconic image for “A Chorus Line.” He spent the early part of his career primarily working as freelance artists and under contract for individual productions or ballet companies. Later in his career, Robert Hoppe signed a contract with Paramount Productions and began designing sets, costumes, and movie posters ?almost exclusively for them. Robert Hoppe created an original painting to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Paramount Pictures that remains one of the best-selling art deco prints to this day.
