This rare and charming elephant with his trunk down was first issued in 1913 and modelled originally by Charles Noke, who pioneered the flambé glazes for Royal Doulton. It stands just 10cm high and is Model No. 65 It is HN 181/186. The backstamp dates it for between 1930 and 1946 when it was retired. Overall its condition is very good. There is some minor restoration to the front right foot, as shown, but this does not detract from the overall appearance.
