Silver Plated Round Serving Dish, Hukin & Heath
This is a top quality silver plated round serving dish (or sometimes called a muffin dish) dating to the Edwardian era, around 1900/1910. It is made by famous silversmiths and electroplaters Hukin & Heath, best known for their association with Dr Christopher Dresser but makers of many high quality pieces from different designers.
This is a three part serving dish. Hot water is placed in the bottom (or ice if something is to be kept cold), the plate is then put on top and the food placed on it before everything is covered with the domed lid. The ebonised wood handle will remain cool to the touch when hot items are inside. It is both practical and an eye-catching addition to your dining table.
As you would expect from Hukin & Heath, the quality of design, manufacturing and plating is of the highest standard. Condition is very good with no plate loss, no dings or dents and just a couple of salt spots at the bottom of the bowl and the minimal wear you would expect after 100 years. This item has clearly been well looked after. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The serving dish is 19.3cm in diameter at its widest point and stands 13.5cm high to the top of the handle. It weighs 625g.
Shipping in the UK is £7 by Hermes Tracked & Signed.
