A charming and stylish French commode of slender proportions. Well made in solid mahogany and stunning flame mahogany veneers onto an oak carcas. This commode , or chest, is of rare slender depth so it would work well in a restricted space , perhaps a hallway or behind a sofa. The green/blue marble top is eye catching and is removable for ease of installation. It sits over a series of 5 long drawers, with the top drawer being "hidden" within the freeze. The lower four drawers are all fitted with their original brass handles. The flame mahogany veneers have mellowed over the lifetime of this chest which now has a beautiful colour and patina. It is offered for sale in excellent original condition ready to go straight into the home.
