Small Early Georgian Birdcage Tripod Table
FINE small size early George III / George II Cuban mahogany "birdcage" tilt top tripod table. Beautiful piece of timber used on the top with early feature of the edge being "under-moulded". Nice shape tripod base with turned column and original birdcage mechanism which allows the top to be turned. The table has a great original patination and is a lovely colour.
The wedge (as ususal) is an old replacement as is also the brass catch otherwise very good condition for age.
It is unusual to get a Birdcage tripod quite as small as this, they are normally much larger.
