Specimen Bank Note Proofs dated 1818 Bank Notes  Proofs
Society of Arts submitted Specimen Proofs for the Prevention of Forgery on Bank Notes. Dated June 4th 1818 - First Plate.
Has Mr R H Sollys' 'Minerva Head' encircled by a wreath of oak leaves, engraved by Charles Warren.
These specimens were produced on soft steel as opposed to copper and on the smaller Proof states Etched and Engraved on Steel by C Warren.
Engraved onto paper which was then attached to light card.
