Spectacular 18thC Welsh Elm Dairy Bowl
A rare 18thC Welsh pole lathe turned elm bowl of the most beautiful form and good size at 10” diameter. A superb example, very hard to come by and simply gorgeous. These bowls were used to serve (in the centre of the table) the popular Welsh staple tatws llaeth, a dish of potatoes cooked in milk, sometimes buttermilk with added leeks and bacon.
It is in perfect condition and with exceptional colour and surface and the most spectacular turning marks. A truly outstanding example in every aspect.
It measures 25cm diameter by 8cm high.
