Stunning BURMANTOFTS Jardiniere & Stand c.1890
A stunning large BURMANTOFTS FAIENCE ART POTTERY Jardiniere Stand & Matching Planter produced in the Burmantofts Leeds factory between 1882 and 1904. With a combined height of 950mm this is a striking example of Burmantofts Pottery which has survived in excellent condition.
The planter and stand are decorated with attractive embossed/moulded sunflowers, foliage, and geometric designs. Both pieces are finished with the iconic Burmantofts high gloss FAIENCE glaze in a rich treacle colour.
In fantastic antique condition with no apparent chips or damage. Some minor, light surface marks where the planter sits on the pedestal, mentioned only for completeness.
Planter marked on base with the BF monogram and design no 1947B (J1). Pedestal marked "BURMANTOFTS FAIENCE ENGLAND" with design no.1948B (J1).
Pedestal height ~680mm, base dia. ~300mm Planter height ~270mm, ~315mm dia.
