A quality Bristol Georgian period longcase clock. A fine well proportioned mahogany case with choice flame veneers and boxwood banded inlays. A swan neck hood pediment with central brass finial. Corinthium capped fluted hood columns. A regional styled 'wavy' hood door inner surround. An arched painted dial with corner decorations and a country horse riding hunting scene to the arch. Blued steel hands and a date aperture and seconds dial. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

The Morgan family of clockmakers from Bristol are noted makers. Thomas Morgan worked at Broad Weir, Bridewell Lane, High Street and Merchants Passage from 1761-1838.
