When we purchased this writing slope, attached to the key was an only just readable, tatty label.....Uncle Freddy’s Writing Slope.

Victorian, pine and still retaining traces of the original paint graining in imitation of more expensive timber.

Quite unusually this piece has kept its original key and working lock with a sweet, heart shaped escutcheon plate. Evidence of previous use but still going strong and a very decorative item, thanks Uncle Freddy.
