Vatican City 800 Silver Souvenir Spoon, c.1944-68
This is a Vintage Italian 800 Grade Silver Vatican City Souvenir Spoon. The spoon has a plain bowl with a double struck stem in the ancient Roman style topped by an angel supporting the crest of Vatican City featuring the Triple Crown and the Crossed Keys.
The makers' mark is quite rubbed but is clearly an Italian mark from the period 1944-1968, so the spoon must have been made between these dates.
Condition is good, with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear from the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The spoon is of teaspoon size, measuring 13cm / 5.1ins in length and weighing in at 11.5g / 0.4oz of solid silver.
The underside of the bowl is stamped with the Italian makers' mark, now quite rubbed, and 800 to show that it is made from 800 / 1000 grade silver.
