Very Rare Belfast Boxwood & Brass Stock Rule
EXTREMELY RARE early two fold 24" long boxwood, brass and metal stock or scale rule by J McMILLAN, BELFAST. WARRANTED BEST BOX. This maker is un-recorded in all the books I can find, he is not listed in the rule book or in the Scientific instrument makers dictionary. The rule has a chamfered outer edge with a full length brass slide to the inside. Both inner pins are present. The engraving on the rule is definitely early 19th century maybe even 18th century. This is the first Belfast boxwood rule I've ever seen. VERY RARE.
