Mid Victorian Walnut Writing Slope burr walnut writing slope with beautiful brass mounts and central enamel panel hand painted with a young female. Made circa 1860

The interior has a velvet lined skiver and inkwell compartments, and compartment with brass mounted cover. Measures 31cm in length.

Overall In good condition with no major damage or repairs just general wear commensurate with age given its 165 years of age. The hand painted enamel portrait is in complete condition with no damage and retains its vibrant colour. The lid does not shut entirely flush and has a slight warp due to its age but this is minor and does not detract from its beauty. Some wear to the velvet skiver and the new owner may want to invest in a new skiver. Hinges all in good order. Overall this still is a beautiful box.
