This compact is suitable for use with both pressed / solid modern face powders or as a handbag mirror.
A 1960s Stratton "Convertible" powder compact. The lid is decorated with lustrous cobalt blue enamel - in the centre a diamond cut gilt design of intersecting circles. There isn't any enamel loss & the compact is beautiful. The whole compact is in good condition with a very good mirror, just a couple of subtle age spots. The mirror bezel is signed "STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND PATENT APPLIED". The rim of the powder well is marked "PAT. 764125". The base is decorated with the famous Stratton all over star pattern & is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND.' At the top of the compact near the hinge is a tiny hard to see ding & this is reflected in the price.
The diameter of this vintage compact is 3 1/8" & weighs 93.3 grams.
