This is a vintage deed box. An English, Art Deco iron document or deposit chest, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1930.
Displays a desirable aged patina
Painted black finish over iron shows weathering commensurate with age
Bronze monogram to the lid - reading AFB 1934
Lid opens through 180-degrees for ease of access
Shield-shape lock escutcheons numbered as 201 and 206 - keys absent
Adorned with flush-fitting drop handles to each side
