This powder compact is suitable for use with loose & pressed / solid face powder or as a handbag mirror. This compact can hold powder pans measuring anything from 60 mm - 67 mm diameter.
This is such a charming English mid-century powder compact. Never having been used it is in excellent condition. The pictorial inlay showing one of the most adored of British birds - the Long- tailed tit. The little bird is sat on a branch with twigs & a white feather in her beak..........nest building time in spring. There isn't any loss of design & the inlay is protected by a plastic cover. The lid opens to reveal a powder well with a pristine protective card inlay, unused sifter with a pretty pink velour edge, a foam puff & a brass spacer ring. The spacer ring is easy to fit & take out, without it this compact will hold standard face powder pans measuring 67 mm, like Max Factor 'Creme Puff', CCUK Constance Carroll & Miss Beauty. When the spacer ring is installed the compact can house powder pans measuring between 60 - 66 mm. The presence of the original sifter means this compact can be used with loose powder as well. The mirror is excellent & gives an accurate reflection. The base is smooth gold tone. This is an uncommon compact.
The compact measures almost 3" & weighs 79.2 grams.
