Vintage Silver Photo Frame, Pedro Duran, c.1950s
This is a very attractive Vintage Spanish Sterling Silver Photo Frame with a wooden backing and strut from around the 1950s. The frame is rectangular with rounded corners and a stepped rim around the picture. It will stand either upright portrait style or horizontal landscape style.
The frame is designed to hold a 15cm x 10cm / 6in x 4in photograph although the visible image is a fraction smaller than that. The outer dimensions are 17cm x 12cm / 6.7in x 4.7in. It weighs 209.8g / 7.4oz.
The photo frame is made in Spain by Pedro Duran and assayed as 925 Sterling Silver in Madrid. Pedro Duran Morales founded his silversmiths company in 1886 and by 1899 they had already received the Royal Warrant from the King of Spain. They are particularly well known for their fine quality photo frames and the brand is still going today.
Whilst the photo frame has definitely seen some use, condition is generally good with just a couple of dings just above the bottom right hand corner. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The lower left hand side of the frame is marked with 925 for Sterling Silver, M for Madrid assay office and 3 for Pedro Duran. It also bears the Pedro Duran signature and a small mark of an urn or vase. The wooden back is also marked Pedro Duran.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
