Walton Staffordshire Pearlware Castle Spill Vase
An unusual Staffordshire pottery pearlware spill vase by John Walton, c.1820. Formed as a castle turret set on a large grassy mound with a river running underneath through the mound and a small rowing boat floating on the water. Decorated in the round with shredded clay vegetation. The "Walton" banner mark is to the reverse.
It measures 14cm (5 1/2") high, 11.5cm (4 1/2") wide and 9cm (3 1/2") deep. Condition is very good with no damage or restoration bar a small scrape to the glaze at the start of the banner and a few light losses to the shredded clay. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
