Colin Almack known as Beaverman.

Maker of bespoke furniture predominantly in oak with his trade mark 'the beaver' carved on all his pieces. He established his workshop in Thirsk, North Yorkshire in 1960. The business moved from Thirsk to Sutton-under-Whitestone-cliffe and is still there today. Colin's son in law David Glegg now runs the business.

Robert Mouseman Thompson trained many local craftsmen, many of whom created their own similar trademarks - known collectively as the Yorkshire critters.

These critters include: Gnomeman, Beaverman, Lizardman, Squirrelman, Acornman
