An interesting dated German pewter plate with an engraving in the centre depicting a gentleman and two ladies, on the rim is the date 1690 and the initials H W H. All round the rim is the following wording ‘BILDNIS DES WOHLEHRBAREN CONSVLS VALENTIN DEHMAR V SEINER ZWEITEN TOCHTER HANNA V EVA’ which translates as ‘PORTRAIT OF THE WELL-TEACHABLE CONSVLS VALENTIN DEHMAR V HIS SECOND DAUGHTER HANNA V EVA. This plate is well marked on the back and is in good original condition. Sizes: 9 ¼ “(24cms) diameter, 1”(2 ½ cms) deep. Date circa 1690.

I source my stock through many contacts built up over the years. This continues to consist of carefully chosen high quality 17th 18th and 19th century of furniture, particularly specialising in articles with their own fine original colour and also many interesting smaller items of the same periods.
