A stylish set of six Art Deco tubular steel Chromium plated cantilever chairs with the original black Rexine upholstery

Designed by Serge Chermayeff, for the BBC for use in their new studios at broadcasting house 1931-32.

Manufactured in England . Cox and co ( M52 armchair) ,PEL also sold the same chair (SP9 armchair).

Condition:

In very good original condition as to be expected the chrome has minor scuffs and scratches in some areas, on the base of one of the chairs a 2 inch strip of chrome has peeled off so the steel is visible .

The original upholstery has minor scuffs marks and one chair has a small tear at the top of the seat , three of the chairs have lost their Sac cloth platform revealing the bent plywood seat only visible from underneath chair.

These are the best examples I have seen they are in superb original condition.
