Description

One of the finest little coin purses of this type I have had.

The star of the show is of course the beautiful Cat head to the top, beautifully executed with fine detail, cast in brass and retaining two lovely glass eyes.

The cat is surrounded with a wonderful raised frame to the lid of the purse, retaining the original gilded finish which can also be seen once opened. The front catch is in full working order the push-catch at the front releases the sprung lid. The leather purse itself expands.

A truly splendid example and highly collectable measuring 2 1/4" in diameter x 1/2". Late Victorian in excellent condition.
