Description

This sweet brooch contains an original watercolour miniature of a lady. There is no easy way to remove the picture from the brooch so we have not done so. We believe the picture to be earlier than the setting. The brooch itself is probably late Victorian in date, whereas the picture appears to be Georgian. The metal mount is probably brass with a decorative edge and a glass centre and the piece retains its original pin.

Condition Overall good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. Some tarnishing and grubbiness and the piece would benefit from being cleaned and polished. A few of the claws are slightly bent. The picture is faded.

2.5cm diameter.
