Description

This lovely large chandelier looks to date from the first half of the twentieth century. There are no maker's marks or labels. It has an arrangement of glass drops, held in place by metal fixings. We believe the frame to be silver-plated. It retains its hanging hooks and chain. It is an electric chandelier and was still in use until recently. However, we would recommend that the electrics be checked by a qualified electrician prior to use.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. It is very grubby and would benefit from a careful clean. There is one lower drop missing and some of the others are chipped. A few have been repaired. The wire links are misshapen in places and some look to have been replaced. The silver-plating is worn exposing the metal beneath in places. The chandelier was still in use until recently, but we would recommend that the electrics be checked by a qualified electrician prior to use.
