Slades Antiques

Description

This antique dinner service was made by Crownfield, and looks to date from the second half of the nineteenth century. It is of lovely quality with a superb royal blue colour and gilt highlights and edging. All pieces are impressed on the bottom with the maker's mark. The service comprises:
1x large serving bowl (26cm diameter)
1x large lidded tureen (32cm wide)
2x covered oval dishes (28cm wide)
10 x dinner plates (25.5cm diameter)
6x soup bowls (25.5cm diameter)


Condition: Overall this service does have some damage and wear consistent with age. There is some wear and loss to the gilding, worse to some pieces than others, and some marking and scratching. There are some old stapled repairs, including to the bottom of the bowl and to the base of one of the covered dishes. There is some chipping, including to the dish with the repaired base and one of the plates, and some hairline cracking, including to the lid of the large tureen.
