Description

This attractive antique garden bench is not marked that we can see, but is probably by Coalbrookdale as this pattern ('rustic') appeared in their 1875 castings catalogue. It is very decorative with a lovely intricate pattern. The bench has been painted white at some point some time ago, and this paintwork is grubby and rusted as might be expected from an antique item of garden furniture. The bench has had a lovely new slatted pitch pine seat fairly recently fitted.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. The bench has undergone some fairly recent restoration work and is nice and sturdy. It has had a pitch pine slatted seat fitted along with some new bolts, etc. The paintwork remains as it was and is grubby, flaking and stained with rust. The ironwork has some rusting that we believe to be surface only. The piece has a nice antique patina.

The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 87cm high, 165.5cm wide, 64.5cm deep (to maximums) 40cm high to seat.
