This antique company sign dates from c.1910. It is made from cast iron with cast lettering that reads: 'By Royal Letters Patent E & H Roberts Limited Patentees & Manufacturers Deanshanger England No. 2549'. E & H Roberts were a well-known iron works firm specialising in agricultural implements. They became a limited company in 1890 and went bankrupt in 1927. We believe this sign to be an elevator plaque.

Condition - Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. We do not believe the cream paintwork to be original, although it does have some age and is grubby and chipped. The sign is bent in the bottom left-hand corner. There is some discoloration and some rusting around the edges and around the screw holes. There is also some rusting to the back of the sign.
