Description

We believe this item to be for cleaning cutlery and to date from the late nineteenth century. It was made by Crowden & Garrod and retains its porcelain maker's plaque to one side. It is oak cased with an iron stand and winding handle.

Condition: Overall this piece has some quite heavy wear consistent with age and use and would benefit from some sympathetic restoration. The case has some staining, wood shrinkage and wear. The case and wooden handle have some old woodworm damage, worse to the handle - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution. The metalware has some rusting and corrosion. The handle does turn.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 42cm high, 44cm wide, 36cm deep (to maximums).
