Description

This attractive antique tobacco sign dates is made from pressed tin with a card back. We believe it to date from the first quarter of the twentieth century. It has a textured, part painted front. There are small holes at either side of the price, probably to allow the price to be changed when necessary. The sign has a hanging loop on the back and would also originally have had an easel stand (this is now missing). There is a maker's monogram on the front of the sign together with the number 374.

Condition: Overall in fair condition only. The sign has some quite significant rusting. It is a little bent / misshapen and is overall grubby. The card back is dirty, scuffed, discoloured and quite badly misshapen. As is mentioned above the sign is missing its easel stand from the back.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
27.5cm high by 37.5cm wide.
