Description

Artist- Joseph-Marius Ramus (1805-1888), French sculptor. Please note that we are not 100% sure of the artist as we do not have any provenance for the piece.

Medium - Bronze sculpture

Details - Lovely antique bronze sculpture depicting two children / boys. The sculpture is mounted and fixed on its original bronze base. The sculpture is incised at the foot 'Cresson editeur Ramus'. We believe this indicates it to have been made at the Cresson foundry by Ramus. There is also a 'K' incised underneath. We would estimate it to date from the mid-nineteenth century.

Condition - Overall in very good condition with some wear and patina consistent with age. There are some manufacturing imperfections as might be expected. There is some wear and scratching to the finish and the piece is overall a little grubby.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 25.5cm high, 20cm wide, 17cm deep (to maximums).
