Description

This lovely antique tantalus dates from the early twentieth century. It is made from oak with brass mounts and a brass strip across the top with a brass handle in the centre. It is lockable and retains a working key. The tantalus retains what we believe to be its original three matching cut glass decanters - the only difference between them is that one of the three does not have a star cut into its base.

Condition: Overall in very good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The woodwork has some scuffing and wear as might be expected and the brass mounts have some tarnishing. The decanters have some slight grubbiness and some nibbling in places, mainly around the stoppers. The decanters also have some manufacturing imperfections as might be expected from hand-cut pieces.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Tantalus - 33cm high, 37cm wide, 14cm deep.
