Description

This decorative planter or table centrepiece is of French origins and dates from the first part of the twentieth century. It is made from some type of cast metal which has been gilt-painted. We are not sure whether gilt-painting is original to the piece. Cast into the inside of the body is 'Depose 953'. The planter is very decorative and has a handle to either side. It retains what we believe to be its original tin liner.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age. There is some grubbiness and wear to the gilt paintwork and some minor surface corrosion in places. The liner has a few small holes and is overall grubby.

14cm high, 36cm long, 12cm wide
