Description

This attractive bacon dish is of lovely quality. It is silver-plated and dates from the second half of the nineteenth century. There are no maker's marks that we can see. The dish has a rolling top, handles at either side, and retains its silver-plated liner. It is a decorative piece with winged legs and claw feet and chased decoration around the top.

Condition: Overall this piece is in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some surface scratching and wear and some minor denting as might be expected. There is some wear to the plating in places, including to the some significant wear to the inside of the lid, and some surface corrosion. The liner has some black staining. The pull handle has some loss. There is a pin missing from one side of the top, which does affect its stability, although the piece remains usuable.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
21cm high, 35cm wide, 23cm deep (to maximums).
