Description

This lovely coal scuttle is an arts & crafts piece dating from the late nineteeth century. It is in the art nouveau style. There are no maker's marks that we can see and the piece is in need of some repair - there is some cracking and holing to the base and the scuttle is missing its handle from the back. The scuttle is made from hand-hammered copper and has a blacksmith-made steel handle with copper rivets.

Condition: Overall in fair condition with some wear and damage consistent with age and use. It is missing its handle from the back and there is some cracking and holing to the base. The body has some significant denting and wear and some tarnishing and surface corrosion.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
38.5cm high (excluding handle), 31cm wide, 32cm deep (excluding handle).
