Description

This attractive chair looks to date from the late Victorian period (c.1900), but is in the Georgian style. It has a solid mahogany frame, with a bow-fronted seat, shaped arms and a decorative back rest. The chair is supported on shaped legs at the front and swept legs at the back. It has a drop-in seat pad with later upholstery.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. The chair is solid with only minimal movement in the joints, but has been repaired to the back rail just above both arms. The upholstery is not original and is a little dated and faded. The seat is a little sunken.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 98cm high, 63cm wide, 56cm deep (to maximums) 46cm high to seat.
