Description

This attractive dining table dates from c.1910. It is constructed from mahogany (possibly with some walnut). The table has an oval top with a wind-out extending mechanism and one and a half additional leaves. The top has a carved rope-twist style edge and the table is supported on four tall cabriole legs with carved shoulders, terminating in lovely ball and claw feet with brass castors. The table retains what we believe to be its original winding handle.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are a few marks to the top. The mechanism works smoothly, but please note that when closed fully with no leaves there is a slight gap in the middle, indicating that the mechanism is twisted right at the end slightly. It closes properly with either or both leaves inserted. The half leaf may be a replacement or may have been cut down at some point.

Overall - 71cm high, 105.5cm wide, 128cm long (without leaves), 178cm long (with leaves) (to maximums).
