Description

This attractive chaise dates from c.1860-1870. It has what we believe to be a walnut frame with serpentine shaped back and end, and a sprung seat. The chaise is supported on short cabriole legs, although please note that two of these are damaged and require repair. The legs terminate in metal and ceramic castors. The upholstery is not original.

Condition: Overall this is an attractive piece, but would benefit from some restoration. There are some signs of old restoration and repair, and one of the front legs is cracked and damaged at the top and is wobbly. The frame has some scuffing, wear and fading. There are some signs of old woodworm to the frame - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution. The woodworm has resulted in some loss to one of the back legs around the castor. The upholstery is dated and has some grubbiness and wear.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 76cm high, 168cm long, 65cm wide (to maximums) 36cm high to seat.
