Description

This antique armchair dates from around the 1820s. Please note that it requires a new seat. We believe the armchair to be constructed mainly from oak, perhaps in conjuction with some other woods. The chair has shaped arms, turned spindles to the back and is supported on turned legs with turned stretchers. It retains some basic later webbing, but has no seat and requires reupholstery.

Condition: This is a nice antique country armchair with a good patina. But please note that it requires a new seat. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. The chair is solid but there is some minimal movement in the joints. There is some significant signs of woodworm to the back legs - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution. The woodworm has cause some damage to one of the back legs, which looks to have been broken and repaired at some point. The webbing is later, and is discoloured and beginning to deteriorate. It is sunken and frayed to one side. It requires replacement.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 109cm high, 63cm wide, 49cm deep (to maximums) 46cm high to seat.
