Description

This unusual lamp has a round bulbous body and a cap lid that fits over the top. It is marked on the base: 'Made by Bladon Bham GPO', together with some numbers that may be a 1930s date. We believe it to be some type of oil or spirit lamp and to be made from pewter with a brass wick holder. We would estimate it to date from the first half of the twentieth century.

Condition: Overall in fair condition, with some wear and grubbiness consistent with age and use. The lamp is overall dirty and tarnished and would benefit from a careful clean. It has some marks and stains and some surface corrosion.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
19cm high, 9.5cm diameter of base.
