Description

This attractive majolica urn looks to be of European origins, perhaps Italian, and to date from the mid-nineenth century. It is highly decorative with faces and foliage and bright colours. The urn is blue and the attached pedestal is black. Please note that the item does have some damage and there is a piece broken off (but present) at the base. There are no maker's marks or labels.

Condition: Overall in fair condition with some wear and damage consistent with age. There is some chipping and knocking around the edges and some areas of old repair. A piece has been broken and reglued around the top and there is a piece broken but present at the base. There is a larger chip also to the base. There is some overall crazing and there is a crack to the top of the pedestal.

38cm high, 15cm diameter of base.
