Description

This lovely pair of antique country chairs dates from the late nineteenth century but are older (Georgian) in style. They have what we believe to be solid beech and elm frames with decorative turned spindle backs and replacement rush seats. The chairs are supported on shaped front legs and rounded back legs. The front legs terminate in pad feet.

Condition: Overall this pair of chairs are in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and they are overall a little faded. They show some signs of restoration and repair, including to the top back rail of one of the chairs and to the middle back rail of the other. The rush seats have been replaced at some point and do have some wear and breaks. The chairs are solid and usuable but do have some slight movement in the joints. There is some wood loss around the feet.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 94cm high, 48cm wide, 38cm deep (to maximums) 43cm high to seat.
