Description

This small antique fire surround dates from the late nineteenth century. It is made from what we believe to be cast iron, which has been overpainted in white with a black inner surround. It has 'Griff 1' cast into the back. The fire surround is missing its grate. It is of a nice small size. The fire surround retains its original wall bolts, but these can be removed if required.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some grubbiness, chipping flaking and wear to the paintwork, and some surface corrosion and rusting. It would benefit from a careful clean and polish.

Overall (external) - 109cm high, 78.5cm wide, 15.5cm deep (to maximums)
Overall (internal) - 64cm high, 28cm wide (to minimums).
