Description

This antique ledger is an Oxfordshire County Court (holden at Bicester) book of 'plaints and interlocutory proceedings'. It is leather bound and was printed and published by John Smith. The book contains the hand-written records of 'plaints for summonses returnable' from March 1850 to August 1851. Only about a third of the book has been filled in. It seems mainly to contain records of debts owed.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age. The binding is grubby and scuffed, especially to the spine and corners, where there is some loss to the covering. The dates are written on the spine. Internally there is some slight discolouration. Only about a third of the book is filled in.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
40cm by 28cm.
