Description

This lovely honey pot is in the form of a honey bee and was made by Elkington. It is stamped underneath: 'Elkington Plate England W11518'. We believe it to date from the first half of the twentieth century. The bee has a silver-plated head with hinged silver-plated wings and an amber glass body to hold the honey. No spoon is present.

Condition: Overall in very good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The metalware is tarnished and there is some wear to the plating. The antennae aare slightly bent. The glass body is a little grubby and has some minor nibbling.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
8cm high, 18cm long, 14cm wide.
