Description

This lovely set of three silver-plated meat covers look to date from the late nineteeth century and are marked for the maker James Dixon & Sons. They have a nice shaped design with decorative handles. They have a crest on the front featuring a bird atop a pile of rocks with the motto 'Suaviter et Fortiter'. All three covers retain their hanging hooks.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some tarnishing and surface scratching as might be expected, and all three of the covers have some denting. The largest cover has some heavier wear to the plating. The handles are a little loose.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Smallest - 19cm high, 30.5cm long, 24cm wide
Largest - 22cm high, 40.5cm long, 32cm wide.
