Victorian Cut Glass & Brass Oil Lamp

Description

This lovely oil lamp dates from the late nineteenth century. It has a cut glass reservoir, a decorative brass base and a 'Best Improved Duplex Burner'. It retains a glass chimney but no shade is present. It is a lovely decorative piece. There are no maker's marks.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The metalware is overall a little tarnished and has some surface scratching and wear. There are some manufacturing flaws to the glass reservoir and a chip to one side at the top edge. The top of the burner is bent. The reservoir is also grubby and would benefit from a careful clean. No shade is present.

Overall - 53.5cm high (including chimney), 19cm diameter of reservoir.
